I'M MENDING POTTERY

Thought I would show you some of the pottery that I am working on. All of these belong to a lady that sells out of the Burleson Antique Mall. I have been mending quite a few pieces for her.

This little Roseville candle holder has a little chip on the rim.

There is a little chip on the goats tail. It is very small, but really hurts the sale.

I love this piece. The pink color and the shape of this Roseville. Too bad it has a large hunk gone on the bottom.

You can see it very clear here.

And then there is this large Roseville. It has a chip gone on the bottom.

Here's a clear shot of it.

When I finish all of them I will post again and show you the finished product.

Hope all of you have a wonderful night, oh yes, I just got a call from Charlene and her honey from California. Poor things, they had to buy jackets because it was cool. Wish we needed some jackets!!! What we need is an Artic front.... or at least some rain to cool things off. Take care!

MY ROSEVILLE FIND

This afternoon a little before five I went to an early estate sale. I'm on an email list and they let us come early. And I wasn't the first person in the door, but everyone missed this gorgeous Rosevill vase and I swooped it up. It is listed in the book for $240. I paid $25. Usually at that price it will have a chip or broke somewhere. This one is perfect, only a little crazing from age. I was sure lucky today.

I got up this morning and went for a thirty minute walk. It was so humid that by the time I got back to the house I was soaking wet and the sun was just coming up. I jumped in the shower and made my bed and started working on some of the pottery that I have. After finishing that I started working on some other projects. This journal was one of them. I found this leather journal in a thrift store several months ago, but today I started digging in my lace and things and came up with this.

The picture on the front is from a vintage greeting card and the lace is all vintage. I dyed the grapes and the flower in the corner. This is my first altered journal.

This is a close up of the back. It has the same vintage lace & flower, but I had to put this lovely butterfly back here.

This is another close up of the front. It has a brown elastic band that holds it together. Right on top of all that vintage lace.

And this is the inside. The pages are brown like paper sacks.

This journal was so much fun to make. It reminded me of some of the bridal albums I used to make years ago. I love working with vintage lace, it makes me feel good just to touch something that has been around for a long time. Some of the old lace came from clothes and I wonder who wore them and if they loved the lace as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a restful night and sweet day tomorrow.

(PLEASE READ)IF WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO SAY WE SHOULD KEEP OUR MOUTH SHUT

FRIENDS...LEFT OUR SPIRITS, KEEP US HONEST,
STICK WITH US WHEN TIMES ARE TOUGH, AND
MAKE MUNDANE TASKS ENJOYABLE. NO WONDER
WE WANT TO MAKE FRIENDS.

Em Griffin

I would like to call attention to the people out there in blogland that are leaving cruel remarks to our lovely bloggers. I was under the impression that our blogs were out there to lift our fellow bloggers when they needed a lift, to share our joys and our sorrows. To show our appreciation for each others talents and to share our ideas in a crafting circle. To lend a helping hand to anyone in need and use our crafts to help, as in the cancer foundations. God put us on this earth to help each other not to tear each other down. Too many of our bloggers are getting cruel and tacky comments from people that won't even leave their names. These are people that should not even have the right to blog on our blogs. I think, and this is only my opinion, but again I think we should all pray for these pityful people that only get happy from someone elses pain. I have read two blogs of friend that were hurt by these kind of people, hurt enough that they wanted to stop blogging. That is a disgrace, and shame on the persons that can put out this kind of pain. If we are not willing to have wonderful uplifting comments to leave to our blogging friends that give their heart and sole to us, THEN WE SHOULD KEEP OUR MOUTHS SHUT. IF YOU HURT SOMEONE WITH WORDS THAT COME FROM YOUR MOUTH OR PUT IT IN PRINT, YOU WILL ANSWER ONE DAY. WORDS THAT ARE SPOKEN ARE POWERFUL WORDS, OUR LORD CREATED THE EVERYTHING WITH WORDS. AND HE IS THE ONE THAT WILL JUDGE. I PRAY I WILL NEVER HURT ANYONE WITH WORDS. PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE FEELINGS OF THE PERSON BEFORE YOU LEAVE A COMMENT, AND IF IT IS NEGATIVE OR HURTFUL, DON'T LEAVE IT.

My love to all our wonderful bloggers!

MISS FEEBEE WENT TO THE KITTY HOSPITAL

Well the day finally came for Miss Feebee to go to the hospital to get fixed. We sure didn't want anymore little kittens running around here. I have a hard time just keeping up with her. She did marvelous tho. The meds had her very drousy Thur. night, but was getting around pretty good last Fri. And now she is jumping everywhere. She can sneak out the door and you never knew she did it. I have to make sure she is in before I leave the house. Think I should have name her Miss Sneaky.

This is a picture of her in her little bed. She is soooooooo sleepy.

Think she passed out. Probably tired from getting into everything.

She must be planning on what she can get into next. See the mischief in her eyes. She is always planning something.

And here she is on her little scratching post. She thinks it is her throne. She thinks this is her house and she lets me stay here so I can take care of her. She really loves me at night when she comes to bed with me. She nuzzles on my neck and pats my face with her little paw. She can be so sweet.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow.

RAIN AND MORE RAIN

This is one of the strange looking clouds we had yesterday.

We started having storms Wednesday evening and they got worse as the hours passed. Some of the places around the Metroplex had winds as high as 75 miles per hour. A few tornados in some of the places. And then yesterday we woke up to more rain. Most of the Metroplex got from 6 to 8 inches of rain and it all came so fast. So much flooding around Dallas. We needed rain so bad, but that came fast and heavy and caused so much run off and no place to run.

But, today it is suppose to be hot and humid. I don't mind the hot, but the humid is awful. Hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend.

Pat

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH

I would like to wish my dear friend Charlene, from "MY Hearts Ease", a very Happy Birthday. I hope this day was filled with lots of love and wonderful memories for you and your "Honey". Thank you Candy for giving me a special friend, you made it possible. I will always have a special tug in my heart for you, for sending Charlene to me. Charlene is a very special person, wish all of you could know her as I do. God sure gave me a wonderful gift the day I met Charlene.

If instead of a gem or even a flower, we
should cast the gift of a loving thought into
the heart of a friend; that would be giving
as the angels give.

George MacDonald

All my best wishes for you on your special day!!!!!
