Don't you just love this image. This is an image that I transfered using freezer paper and muslin. I have fell in love with this method. I have some watercolor pencils and used them on her face. The rest has been embroideried using different threads. The bow on her neck is silk ribbon and little pearls on her hat and one little pearl on her ear. I had so much fun doing her that I have almost finished another lady done in black and white. Here is the pillow completed. I love all the different fabrics showing her off. The back is black. I'll show you the other one when it is completed.
Hope you enjoyed the visit and have a wonderful day.
Oh Pat, she is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! You did an amazing job on her!!! I can just imagine how many different stitches you put on there! I miss you. HUGS! Charlene
Oh my goodness Pat she is gorgeous!! Can you share "the method" with us or is it a secret?. I'm thinking you printed an inkjet image onto freezer paper (don't know which side though) then ironed it onto fabric...am I anywhere near the mark??...lol Love seeing your work its just lovely. Kind Regards Judith http://creativestudio10.blogspot.com
Wow Pat, You really brought her to life. Someday we're going to have to get together so you can teach me stitches. Guess what? My scrim supply is dry! Hancock isn't selling it anymore. I guess I'm going to have to order it online. I do have a box for you. Nothing much but I think you can use it. Email me your address. Lisa
Thank you for stopping by to meet me and hear about My Tattered Elegance.
My name is Pat, I'm a self taught artist, junker and creative person. I paint on nearly any surface, make ribbon roses one petal at a time, do ribbon embroidery, form roses from the oven baked clay. I also do some sewing for my home.
My favorite pasttime is not going shopping at the mall, it is going shopping at a good yard sale, or fantastic estate sale or a big flea market. The thrill of finding that special something is better than chocolate (and I love chocolate). I'm even one of those ladies that stop and load my car with the cast offs on the side of the curb. Some of the curb trash becomes my best finds.
I'm at home here in Fort Worth, Texas and love it. I have a married daughter, Kim. She doesn't have any children only three cats. I also have a married son, Kent. He has two sons, Bryce and camron. Also one daughter, Payton. She is the one that comes and paints with me. And she loves to use my beads to make jewelry. Grand-daughters are so much fun.
