This is a new pillow that I started a couple of days ago. I am using whites and creams and all muted colors in the embellishments.I put my silk ribbon in a brown dye bath to help mute the brightness of the colors. The butterfly is one that I painted some time ago. I'll post again on the progress.
If you are interested in Crazy Quilting you should go to Pat Winters blog. She has a new CQ Magazine on the market, but you have to order from MagCloud. The magazine is awsome, some of the best CQ artist around are featured in this first edition.
This is just beautiful! I would also like to know where you get your silk ribbon and thread. And I am also looking for information on painting the lace pieces. What do you use? Please post more on this pillow as I would love to see it when it's finished. xo, Karen
Hello.... Your work is beautiful! I love doing crazy type quilt work...After seeing yours I'm anxious to start something new. I've just become your newest follower...I would love to have you come visit and follow me.
Nice to find a fellow CQr. Love your pillow so far. I'm a new follower also. I got pulled away from CQ for a few weeks, but I'm ready to get back to it. Take care, Connie
Thank you for stopping by to meet me and hear about My Tattered Elegance.
My name is Pat, I'm a self taught artist, junker and creative person. I paint on nearly any surface, make ribbon roses one petal at a time, do ribbon embroidery, form roses from the oven baked clay. I also do some sewing for my home.
My favorite pasttime is not going shopping at the mall, it is going shopping at a good yard sale, or fantastic estate sale or a big flea market. The thrill of finding that special something is better than chocolate (and I love chocolate). I'm even one of those ladies that stop and load my car with the cast offs on the side of the curb. Some of the curb trash becomes my best finds.
I'm at home here in Fort Worth, Texas and love it. I have a married daughter, Kim. She doesn't have any children only three cats. I also have a married son, Kent. He has two sons, Bryce and camron. Also one daughter, Payton. She is the one that comes and paints with me. And she loves to use my beads to make jewelry. Grand-daughters are so much fun.
