DO YOU LIKE CRUNCHY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES?

That's what my cousin asked me, she said, you know the real good crunchy ones we had as a kid back in the early fifties. You know most chocolate chip cookies are chewy now not crunchy. Well Patsy, my cousin, still had her fifties recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies. And they are as good today as back then. So I thought I would share her recipe with all who wants it. She says the secret is not to put butter in the cookies. Maybe so.

The Fifties Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cream together 1 cup Crisco, 1 cup dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 t. vanilla and 2 large eggs.

Sift 2 cups flour, 1 t. baking soda, 1 t. salt together, then combine to sugar mixture. Mix well, then add 1 cup chopped pecans and 12 oz. package of chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake @ 375 degrees about 8 to 13 minutes until good and brown. Makes about 5 dozen, more it you make smaller cookies. Patsy always doubles this recipe. They keep good in a cookie tin. I make these with my kitchenaid mixer. So quick and easy.

The top picture is a little dark, sorry, guess the light messed up. The bottom picture is the true color. Hope you enjoy the cookies if you make them. And thanks for stopping by.
Smiles,
Pat

Hope your trip to the RA doctor is good & all is well. Are you feeling better with your new medicine for thyroid? My back is doing better & I am being careful. Today I saw Laverne & she is having back/hip trouble. Man, it's heck getting older.

I am so glad you liked the post about the birds. I took my oldest grandson over & HE LOVED THEM! You should take your grandaughter.
