A CURB SIDE FIND

This little container is something that I found at the curb a few blocks from my house. I guess the lady had did some spring cleaning. I also found some tall candle holders and a new diaper bag that still had the tags on it. When I found the container I didn't know for sure what it was for, I guess to carry food. I've had it a long time just sitting in the garage. Then one day, while looking at it a light bulb came on, and I filled it with some of the old jewelery and things that I have been collecting forever. It wouldn't hold all the jewelery, but it holds quite a bit. And it doesn't take up too much space. Wish I could find a few more of these, they are very good storage containers.

Hope all of you have a blessed and creative day!

MY LACY PILLOW

This is what I have been working on for the past few days. Started out dying material and lace with tea. Some of the lace is new and some is vintage. The pocket was an old white work scarf with butterflies. It even had some holes in it worn from time. But I loved the buterflies and I like to reuse and update things. The crochet on the back was some I found at a yard sale. I have been wanting to make some pillows for a while, and seeing so many of these lace pillows just made me get with it. I plan to make some more, they are so much fun to work on. Hope you enjoyed my little adventure with pillows, I know I sure did!

Hope all of you have a restful night and a blessed day tomorrow. I'll show you some scarves I bought to make a pillow out of the next time I blog.

A COUPLE OF TREASURES THAT I CREATED

Thought I would show you some of my older art. I found this little bed at an estate sale several years ago and thought it was so cute. I had to do some work like glue and a few nails. Then sanded and painted. I had to add a sweet little rose on it. It looked good, but not finished, it needed some bedding, so I went and bought some pretty pink and green material. I made the mattress and pillow and covers. Then I sold it to a Grandmother for her little grand-daughter for christmas. Hope she has enjoyed it. I sure had fun making it.

This is an over night case that I made several years ago. I think it was white, and I painted it green, then added the roses. Afterwards I found some material and lined the inside. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first time lining the inside. Sold this one on Ebay.

Hope you enjoyed looking at some of my old work. I've got to get busy and start some new things. I am wanting to do some pillows.
I've been working on my studio. It's not finished, but at last I can work in there now. I'll show a few pictures of the table space I fixed. I'm hoping my son gets me that desk top, but until then my painted board will have to do. It beats the card tables.
Wishing all of you a wonderful night and a lovely morning tomorrow.

THE WISTERIA IS IN FULL BLOOM

Here is my wisteria in all its glory. I can't wait each year to see it in full bloom and the fragrance is unbelieveabe when we have a little breeze. I took pictures from different angles. We have lots of wisteria in this little town and most are all climbing trees. This week they are all in bloom. Also took a couple of close ups for you to enjoy.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

A GIFT FROM LORRI

Today my mail lady came to the door and left me a box from Lorri http://cuteaspiecottage.blogspot.com/at I was expecting a book, I won her giveaway, but this was a pretty good size box. When I opened it she had put in the wonderful recipe book and the aroma coming from the box was delicious. It was coming from this beautiful strawberry rhubarb pie candle. I was just going to go out and buy a new candle. She also put in a jar of pepper jelly and the recipe so I can make some myself. Everything in this little basket and a lovely sweet note from her. Thank you soooooo much Lorri. This is my first win in years, I used to shoot guns in competition and we had drawings there and I won some things then, but this is much, much better.

You really made my day and I hope yours is as good.

FLOWER DRAWER PULLS

Thought I would show you some drawer pulls I found a couple of weeks ago. I love the old vintage ones, but these are so pretty and I got them for nothing, you might say. I got 22 for 2 bucks. Not bad, I say!

Hope everyone has a wonderful night.

THE FINISHED SHELF

Well I finished the shelf today and got it moved in. Put all my pottery that I'm working on in the shelves. I've got a lot of work to finish. But most of it is mine so I can take my time with it. Also move in the chest. It is still empty. Not enough energy to fill it. Here are a few pictures. I had to get at a crazy angle to get it. Sorry it's not very bright. I've got to get more light in there with all those red walls. I painted this room for my aunt when she was living with me and what can I say, I like red too. Especially with purple!

I'll keep posting to let you know how the room is coming along. It's suppose to rain again all day tomorrow. So I guess I'll work in the house. Next week is suppose to be pretty. Of course you never know in Texas! Hope all of you have a good night and take care.

THANK GOODNESS WE ARE GETTING RAIN

The rain started last night and I am so glad to see those little wet drops fall on my grass. We have had a very dry winter in Fort Worth. Usually I gripe when it rains, but not this time. The past few days have been very warm in the 70's and 80's. I worked in my front yard yesterday and wore a short sleeve shirt and today it is in the 40's or high 30's. That's par for Texas weather. Guess that's why I like Texas, not too much cold. My wisteria tree is starting to bloom, well really it is vines that I planted at the bottom of my pine tree. The wisteria has taken it. Just hope the rain doesn't spoil the blooms this year. Here are some pictures, wanted you to see it now and I'll take more pictures when it is in full bloom. It is beautiful then.

Well I've been working on my pottery studio, at least I got it cleaned out. I put a couple of card tables in there to work on until I get my desk top. Kent, my son, is getting me one, hopefully very soon. But I can work on the tables until then, I did for a while this morning. I also painted on the shelf this afternoon. It's drying now and then I will put on a gel stain, distress, and wax it. I need it to store the pottery while I work on it. That room will also have to have a bed in it in case I need the extra room. I found some twin frames, but I've got to get a set of box springs for my matress. I need to paint a small chest that holds paint and things and paint the night stand. Lots of work yet. We always have work it seems like. Here are a few pictures of my work space for right now and one of the shelf I am painting.

Guess I better get on to some more projects. I'm going to tea dye some lace now. Hope it turns out okay. I love things tea dyed.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!!

GETTING READY FOR A NEW STUDIO

I just sold my dresser, mirror and chest this past weekend. Trying to clear out a room for my pottery studio. I still have a hospital bed in there, and my son is going to take it down sometime this weekend. I'll show you a picture of the room when I get time to take one. Right now I am fighting an awful head cold. Staying in bed a lot and drinking lots of fluids. Going through the Puffs like crazy.
I've been working on an old trunk like suite case I will show you later. Also working on pottery and have started a few watch necklaces.

Also wanted to let you know that Miss Feebee is using her scratching post, not as much as I would like, but she is coming around. I'm thinking about a collar for her now. Just got to come up with the right idea.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day.

Pat
